A Bit of History
HISTORY
The Equine Touch was evolved in 1997 by Jock Ruddock when he was requested by a client to translate his unique form of human bodywork (VHT) to her horse. Jock, who had had nothing to do with horses at this stage, performed what was to become The Equine Touch on his friend's horse, and when he came back the following week there were 10 horses waiting to be touched, it had been that successful on the first horse. The news spread of the wonderful results he achieved with horses and Jock was soon invited to demonstrate The Equine Touch to veterinarians and trainers throughout Europe.
When on a seminar at a veterinary university in the Czeck Republic, he met his future wife, Ivana, who is a veterinarian and was teaching at the university. Together they evolved The Equine Touch, combining Jock's wonderful bodywork skills with Ivana's knowledge of anatomy and physiology. They studied, refined and researched the mechanics of the horse, as well as its energy patterns and emotional armour, and made The Equine Touch what it is today. The Equine Touch does not stand still, however. Jock and Ivana are constantly studying and adding to existing moves, which everyone can learn in Level 4, also known as The Equine Touch and Beyond.
